The Fillmore Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) and the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) will be conducting the annual Local Work Group meeting on Tuesday, March 20, in room 108 of the Fillmore County Office Building, 902 Houston St. NW in Preston across from the sheriff’s office.

The meeting is being held in conjunction with the Root River One Watershed One Plan Advisory Committee meeting that starts at 9 a.m. with information about funding awarded by the Minnesota Board of Water and Soil Resources for implementing the Root River One Watershed One Plan.

At 11 a.m., the Fillmore County Local Work Group meeting will convene to set local priorities for USDA funds distributed through NRCS conservation programs, such as the Environmental Quality Incentive Program (EQIP) and Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP).

The meeting is open to the public.  Those interested in attending are asked to contact the SWCD or NRCS office at 507-765-3878, ext. 3, to RSVP.  Persons with disabilities who require accommodations to participate in this meeting should RSVP one week prior to the meeting.
