Lucille “Lucy” L. Johnson, 68, of Caledonia, died on Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at Gundersen Health Systems, La Crosse, Wis.

She was born March 8, 1949, in Caledonia to Alex and Helen (Twite) St. Mary. She attended St. Mary’s Grade School and graduated from Loretto High School in 1967. She was united in marriage to Richard Johnson on Nov. 18, 1967.

Lucy held various jobs including waitressing and factory work. Her main career was working as a nursing assistant in Caledonia and Spring Grove.

She enjoyed doing embroidery, puzzles, reading and going to the casino with family and friends. She was a member of St. Mary’s Parish.

Survivors include her husband, Richard of Caledonia; three children, Michelle (Brian) VanMinsel of Brownsville, Jeffrey (LeAnn) Johnson of Spring Grove and Dennis (Jennifer) Johnson of Houston; seven grandchildren, Kayla (Mitch) Mittelstaedt, Brooke VanMinsel, Danyelle VanMinsel, Alyssa Johnson, Brianna Johnson, Brandon Johnson and Hannah Johnson; and two sisters, Sylvia (Ronnie) Skifton of Caledonia and Anita (Larry) Olson of Peterson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Lorraine and Harold Gilbertson and Janice and Stan Rauk; and a niece and nephew, Teresa and Dale Erickson.

A Mass of Christian Burial was April 18 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Caledonia. The Rev. Matt Fasnacht officiated and burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Caledonia.
