Fillmore County Public Health staff will be sharing information on radon and giving away free testing kits Saturday, Feb. 24, at the National Trout Center in Preston.

Radon gas has no smell or color.  Radon gives off radiation.  When breathed in, radon hurts the lining of the lungs and can cause lung cancer.

An easy test can let you know your home radon level.  The free kits are available at the National Trout Center, 120 St. Anthony Street South in Preston on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Contact Fillmore County Public Health at 507-765-3898 to learn more about radon.
