Joanne Marie (Rowe) Williams, 64, of Wykoff, died Sunday, Nov. 9, 2014, at her home with her family by her side.

She was born April 27, 1950, in Wykoff, the daughter of Arthur “Art” and Maxine (Sutherland) Rowe.

She graduated from Wykoff High School.

On June 22, 1968, she married Alan D. Williams at the First Methodist Church in Wykoff.

She worked at various locations, including being the co-owner/operator of the Wykoff Rec Center and Forest-Inn Restaurant. She recently retired from the Kingsland Public School District.

She enjoyed spending time at the cabin hunting with the family and friends. She especially enjoyed spending time with her four beautiful granddaughters.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Alan; sons, Colin (Paula McGranahan) Williams of Prior Lake and Bruce (Stacy Simonson) Williams of Milford, Kan.; four granddaughters, Abigail, Alexandra, Hailey and Chloe; father-in-law, Roger Mensink of Wykoff; six siblings, Janice (Jerry) Bartsch of Preston, Leroy (Marlys) Rowe of Wykoff, Rick (Janelle) Rowe of Spring Valley, Judy (Larry) Schmoll of Rochester, Bob (Julianne) Rowe of Fillmore and Tom Rowe of Wykoff and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Marilyn; brother, Gary and sister-in-law, Anne.

A memorial service for her will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 12, in the old gymnasium at the Kingsland Middle School in Wykoff with the Rev. Amanda Larsen of the Wykoff United Methodist Church officiating. Burial of her ashes will be in the Wykoff Cemetery. There will be a visitation from 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 11 at the Thauwald Funeral Home in Wykoff.
