Our Winter Concert season is approaching, and we invite you to join us for the 5th - 12th grade band concert on Monday, Dec. 5, at 7 p.m. in the school’s gymnatorium while the 7th - 12th grade choir concert will be at 7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 12, at the Trinity Lutheran Church.

I would like to take this time to briefly address the reason our choir concert is being held at Trinity Lutheran Church.

Each year, when our choir performs at the baccalaureate service at Trinity Lutheran Church, community members, parents and students recognize the difference in sound and acoustics as compared to when the choir sings in the gymnasium.

We receive compliments about how much more “alive and bright” the choir sounds. The reason for this is simple – the architectural design of the church allows for a superior choral sound to that of the school gymnasium.

The school district has decided to try its winter concert at Trinity Lutheran Church, because it is a more suitable environment for our choirs to showcase their sound. We want to stress that the choir concert will not be a religious service.

Using such a venue for a choir concert is a common practice for finer high school choirs. We are thankful that the Trinity Lutheran Church is willing to let us use its space for our winter concert.

Please join us on Monday, Dec. 5, and Monday, Dec. 12, and enjoy the beautiful music and hard work of our Spring Grove students!
