Edna Olena Omoth, age 80, of Fairmont, Minn., and formerly of Black Hammer, died Jan. 10, 2018, at Goldfinch Assisted Living in Fairmont.

She was born Jan. 17, 1937, in Harland, Minn., to Harold and Clara (Halverson) Hanson.

Edna earned her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Minnesota.

On March 5, 1965, she married Marlin T. Omoth.

Edna worked at Extension Offices in Montevideo, Minn., and Caledonia. She had also worked at Tweeten Memorial Hospital in Spring Grove. In addition to living and working in Montevideo, she had also lived in Winona and Fairmont.

Edna was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church in Black Hammer and a 4-H leader for the Black Hammer Swift Scooters.

She is survived by her children and spouses, Darren (Patty) Omoth, Gregg (Dianne) Omoth, Tyler (Mary) Omoth, Julie Omoth and Lia (Chris) Pytleski; her grandchildren, Courtney, Nicki, Mandy, Amelia, Emma and Nolan; and her brothers, Walter Hanson and Roger Hanson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marlin, on Sept. 9, 2016, her parents, one sister and four brothers.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 17, at 11 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church of Black Hammer, rural Spring Grove. The Rev. Leonard Liptack will officiate.

Friends may call on Wednesday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
