Our state representative, Greg Davids, thinks that making cigarettes cheaper is a good idea. He wants to help big out-of-state tobacco companies at the expense of people’s health. His cigarette excise tax cut will cost Minnesotans about $30 million in lost revenue for the next biennium and untold millions in medical costs and premium increases in the future.
