Lauryn Bohr received the top award for the second straight season as the Spring Grove volleyball team handed out team awards after another successful season under head coach Kelsey Morken.

Bohr was joined by Jadyn Olerud, Mariah Edgington and Sydnie Kampschroer in being honored by their Lion teammates.

Sunday night’s awards banquet also acknowledged outstanding performance in the classroom as well.

Bohr, IMPACT PLAYER of the YEAR

It likely comes as no surprise that Bohr was again voted as Impact Player of the Year (given to the most valuable player). The reigning Southeast Conference Player of the Year and only Lion to ever record 1,000 kills was a leader both on the floor and in the huddle.

She started all four years of her varsity career and was named a team captain during her final season at Spring Grove.

Impact players make an impact all the way around the floor and Bohr did that. She led the team at the net in kills (368) and finished second in blocks (29). Bohr served at 91% on the season with 30 ace serves and came up with 143 digs in the back row.

Olerud, HEART AWARD

The Heart Award winner was senior Jadyn Olerud. While she didn’t get a lot of on-court time this season, her teammates noticed and appreciated that she always came in every day with a very good attitude.

Edgington, HUSTLE AWARD

Edgington was chosen by her teammates as the Hustle Award winner. The junior has started for the Spring Grove varsity since her freshman year. Morken said the coaching staff is very excited to have her back in a Spring Grove jersey one more year because Edgington’s drive to become a better player is contagious.

Edgington was second on the team in kills (208) and led the team in blocks (49). She also played well in the back row, serving at 91% efficiency and a team-best 47 aces and second on the team in digs (166).

Kampschroer, MOST IMPROVED

The Most Improved Player is Sydnie Kampschroer. She served at 96% efficiency and finished fourth on the team with 32 aces. Kampschroer also contributed 47 kills and 55 digs, playing well in both the front and back rows.

ACADEMIC ALL-CONFERENCE

Several Lions received Academic All-Conference awards, including Bohr, Harlee Gavin, Edgington, Alyssa Johnson, Kyleigh Doering, and Amelia Solum. Winners had to have a 3.4 GPA and letter during the season.

LETTER WINNERS

Bohr received her fourth varsity letter while Gavin and Edgington are three-year letter winners. Receiving their second letters were Solum and Kailee Olerud while earning their first letters were Kampschroer, Johnson, Doering and Jadyn Olerud
