Kids are always growing, and with that they should have more opportunities. One city policy that I would like to change is curfew hours and the ages that it applies to.
Right now curfew hours are 10 p.m. during the weekdays and 11 p.m. during the weekends. Curfew applies all year and until you are 18 years old.
I would like to change curfew to 11 p.m. during weekdays and 12 midnight on weekends during the summer months for ages 12-15, and still have the same as before for ages 11 and under during the summer months.
I would keep the curfew the same during the school year. However, I also suggest that curfew not apply to those who are 16 and up.
Even if this policy could change only for the summer I would be happy, because there is a lot more things to do mainly because we are really busy during the school year with sports, homework and other activities.
Curfew is a big deal because we know people will enforce it. For young people these days, friends are a huge deal to everybody. We have movies, parties, and night games; all of these we do at night and they are often cut short because of curfew.
The main reason why I want to change curfew is that we are all growing up and we want to be out later, especially with friends because they are an important part of our lives.
