Myrtle Ladonna Milburn, 93, of Ostrander, died Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018, at the Ostrander Care and Rehab. 

She was born on Oct. 28, 1924, in Spring Valley to Otto and Ida (Christopherson) Ruud.

She enjoyed her early years on a farm near Ostrander with her eight siblings.

On Jan. 31, 1943, she was united in marriage to William “Pern” Milburn in Anoka, Minn.

She was a homemaker and did daycare. She also worked as a cook for the elementary school in Ostrander for many years. She was very proud of her Norwegian Heritage, who along with her sister, Lila, were known as the “Lefse Queens”. She was known for her cooking and pie making. She enjoyed music, dancing and playing cards. Her greatest joy in life was her family. She was also an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Ostrander for over 60 years. 

She is survived by her children, Sharilyn Jensen of Harrisonburg, Va., Steven (Barb) Milburn of Rochester and Scott (Linda) Milburn of St. Charles; grandchildren, Jodi Milburn, Rob Milburn, Michele Hayes, Geoff Jensen and Stephanie (Greg) Jesteadt; 11 great-grandchildren and a host of nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her husband; son-in-law, Steve Jensen and siblings, Melvin Ruud, Elvina Sterling, Leonora Peterson, Raymond Ruud, Lyla Miland, Leona Oswald, Wilma Rolli and Rodney Ruud.

A funeral service for her was held on Friday, Jan. 12, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ostrander with the Rev. Herman Bakker officiating. Burial took place in the Bloomfield Cemetery rural Ostrander.

The family requests memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church in Ostrander or Ostrander Care and Rehab for the music activity fund.
