Randall Ray Cain, 66, of Chatfield, died on Tuesday Jan. 30, 2018, at his home in Chatfield.

He was born on Nov. 12, 1951, in Owatonna to Jerald and Dolores (Derby) Cain.

He graduated from Kasson High School and attended Rochester Vocational Technical College. For many years, he was employed by Cain Family Stables, where he truly enjoyed breaking, training and caring for horses. Over the years he also worked for Arnolds Supply, Chatfield and Fillmore Central Schools, Strongwell in Chatfield and Stone House Stables. He was never married.

He is survived by his siblings, Jay (Julie) Cain of Stillwater, Kevin Cain of Dodge Center and Amy (Steve) Freiheit of Wykoff; a sister-in-law, Pam Gellert of Rochester; six nieces and nephews, Brian (Mandy) Cain, Erin (John) Cain-Helfrich, Brandon (Alesha Sveen) Freiheit, Dustin (Kayla) Freiheit, Wesly (Michelle Clarbour) Freiheit and Travis (Nikki Shorter) Freiheit and five great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service for him was held on Friday, Feb. 2, at the Hindt Funeral Home in Spring Valley with the Rev. Mark Rader officiating.
