The Stewartville-Chatfield gymnastics team lost a dual meet to No. 5 ranked Pine Island/Zumbrota-Mazeppa, 121.5-144.5. 

PI/Z-M is the top ranked team in Section 1A, averaging 141.792 per match.  Kim Greiner, Chatfield sophomore, competes on the gymnastics team.  This is her second year on the varsity squad.

“Kim Greiner beautifully executed her bail (swing from the top bar to land in a handstand on the low bar), giving her the second-place spot on bars with a score of 8.625,” said coach Courtney Severson. “Greiner also finished sixth in the all-around scoring with a total of 31.4.  She had a score of 8.05 on vault, 6.25 on beam and 8.475 on floor exercise.

Austin, also from Section 1A, is ranked 17th (134.887) and Byron is at 21st (131.717).  Detroit Lakes (144.400) is the top ranked team in Class A.

Next meet for the gymnastic team is Thursday, Jan. 4, against La Crescent.
