Bonnie Harvey, 78, of LeRoy, died on Sunday, Nov. 4, 2018, at Mayo Clinic Hospital – Saint Marys Campus. 

She was born on Oct. 23, 1940, in Austin to Ernie and Martha (Timmerman) Malcomson.

She attended and graduated from LeRoy High School in 1958.

She was united in marriage to Harold Harvey at the First Presbyterian Church in LeRoy.

After they were married the couple lived in Preston where she worked as a waitress and later as a bookkeeper at the Creamery and Preston Marketing. They later moved near Hammond, Minn., where they farmed for a short time before moving to a farm south of Spring Valley in 1969. They continued to farm until 1986 when they moved into LeRoy. In 1969 she started working for the United States Post Office in Spring Valley as a mail carrier. She carried mail in Spring Valley and filled in at Stewartville until her retirement in 2001.

She enjoyed playing bridge, bowling and word-find games and especially enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a member of the Pleasure Club and the Garden Club and was active in the First Presbyterian Church in LeRoy.

She is survived by her husband, Harold Harvey of LeRoy; her daughter, Pam (Tom) Stevens of Grand Meadow; seven grandchildren, Jamie, Michael, Alexander and Emily Stevens, Marjia Larimer and Zach (Cassie) Harvey and Lisa Harvey; three great-grandchildren, Cooper, Zoey and Elizabeth; two sisters, Marge Mehring of Rochester and Darlene Velzy of New Mexico; one brother, Clark (Margueritte) Malcomson of Lindstrom, Minn., and a sister-in-law, Norma Malcomson of Green Valley, Ariz.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Mike and Dave; a granddaughter, Zarah; one brother, Dale and one sister, Joyce Knight.

Funeral services for her were held on Friday, Nov. 9, at the First Presbyterian Church in LeRoy with the Rev. John Kerr officiating. Burial followed in the LeRoy Cemetery. Condolences may be left at
