Rushford-Peterson Senior Chloe Bunke was recognized as the Kiwanis Sunrisers of Winona 4-H Youth Representative for the month of December. She is the daughter of Brent and Lorelei Bunke of Rushford. Chloe is a member of the Happy Hart 4-H Club and has served as the historian, secretary and vice president.
While in 4-H Chloe has taken crafts and fine arts, gardening and performing arts projects to the county fair and participates in community service projects with her club. This past year Chloe earned Reserve Champion at the Winona County Fair for performing “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” on guitar. This performance earned her a trip to the Minnesota State Fair where she received a purple ribbon. The Happy Hart 4-H Club has done several community service activities that Chloe has also participated in. When asked about these experiences Chloe said, “These activities have shown me the importance of putting others first.”
When asked what 4-H has to offer and what she would tell others who were considering joining she said, “4-H helps kids gain confidence, responsibility and independence. Anyone can be in 4-H and it’s also a great way to meet new people. 4-H has also allowed me to learn more about myself, to be more responsible and taught me valuable leadership skills.”
Winona Sunrisers Kiwanis Club honors one outstanding Winona County 4-H member during its breakfast meeting the fourth Wednesday of each month. The club meets every Wednesday at 7 a.m. at the Winona Family Restaurant in Winona, Minn.
