Ardys Ingvalson, 84, of Spring Grove

Ardys Geneva Ingvalson (nee Omodt), 84, passed away into the arms of our Lord on March 8, 2019.  She lived an amazing and exemplary life, full of love, compassion, service, and faith.

She was the wife of Leland for 59 years and was the BEST. MOM. EVER to Mark Ingvalson, (deceased), Marcia Ingvalson, John Ingvalson, Janine (Ingvalson) Wirth, Debra (Ingvalson) Landsom, Daniel Ingvalson, Suzanne Lynette, (deceased), Susanne Faith (Ingvalson) Benouna, and Sara (Ingvalson) Morken.  She was also the proud grandmother of 21 and great-grandmother of 13.

With her husband, Leland, Ardys lived and worked with her children outside of Spring Grove on a dairy farm for 22 years. In addition, Ardys worked for almost 30 years collectively at Caledonia’s Sprague Bank and Jennings State Bank in Spring Grove, where she was known for her hard work and kindness towards all patrons.

Her most coveted job, however, was being a Mother, working selflessly and tirelessly to care for her large brood.

Ardys’ capacity to love was boundless, grounded in her faith in God and desire to be a humble servant to him and others. “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you” was not merely a trite concept for Ardys but how she lived every day of her life.

Ardys was preceded in death by her husband, Leland, beloved son, Mark, daughter, Suzanne, grand-daughter, Mackenzie Ingvalson-Kristovich, and three of her siblings, Vivian Brevig, Doris Bakke and Alden Omodt.

She will be remembered for countless things, but her amazing baking skills, love of pizza, music, and fashion, which included a hatred of all hats, will forever be emblazoned in our hearts.

A celebration of Ardys’ life will be held at Faith Lutheran of Blackhammer, 16013 Houston County Rd 4, Spring Grove, MN 55974 on April 19, 2019, at 10 a.m.
