The play is for kids entering grades sixth through ninth, which means most of them will be able to participate in high school plays or the sixth grade musical. 

“I think summer plays are great opportunities for kids to continue growing in their theatrical abilities,” Bratland said. “Through summer shows, kids are also able to experience what shows are like at the Ye Ole Opera House, which can be very different than high school shows.”

She adds that theater is just like a sport or any other activity in life, and that it takes time and a lot of practice to get better.

And even though summer is often a busy time for older kids, she’s grateful that each one of them has made time for the show.
