Beardmore breaks meet record at La Crescent

Senior sprinter Jack Beardmore broke the meet 100-meter dash record Friday at the La Crescent-Hokah Lancers Booster Club Invitational. Running a record-time of 11.10 seconds, the Caledonia/Spring Grove speedster finished first among 24 sprinters while senior teammate Nick McCabe ran a personal-best 11.86 to place sixth.

That pair teamed with Brody Johnson and Jackson Koepke to finish fourth among eight 4x100-meter teams.

Freshman Chris Pieper had a satisfying evening with three personal-record jumps, including a fourth-place high jump of 5 feet, 11 inches. He was eighth among 14 triple jumpers at 36-feet, 5.75 inches and long jumped 17-3.5.

For the Warrior girls, sophomore Eliza Welscher ran sixth among 25 sprinters in the 100M dash with eighth grader Kloe Jore 10th.

Welscher and Jore ran with eighth grader Alexis Schroeder and freshman Alysha Heaney to place fifth among nine 4x100M relay teams.

There were eight teams competing, but no team scores were tabulated.

This week and next

The Warriors were at Rushford-Peterson/Houston on Tuesday of this week before returning to La Crescent-Hokah Friday, May 3.
