Senior Jack Beardmore finished as state runner-up in the 100-meter dash and won the fifth-place medal at 200 meters for Caledonia/Spring Grove at the Class A State Track and Field Championships on Saturday, June 8 at Hamline University in St. Paul.

It was his third state medal, third trip to state and second All-State season after running on the third-place 4x100-meter relay as a sophomore in 2017.

In the 100M, his 11.15 seconds was the fifth best prelim time to send him into the finals where he finished second at 11.14.

At 200 meters, Beardmore again had the fifth-best prelim time (22.77 seconds) before placing fifth in the finals at 22.68.

He earned 15 team points, tying C/SG with Section 1A neighbor Lanesboro/Fillmore Central/Mabel-Canton for 22nd place among the 82 teams that scored team points. Jordan took the boys state team title (87 points). Section 1A champion, Plainview-Elgin-Millville tied for eighth with 24 points.
