Concert Across America strives to end gun violence

Northeast Iowa Peace and Justice Center has partnered with Iowans for Gun Safety to bring area residents an afternoon of music and action in remembrance of America’s victims of gun violence on Sunday, Sept. 29, at 2 p.m. The concert will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 701 Iowa Ave., in Decorah.

Brooke Joyce, musical director at Good Shepherd has organized a full roster of musical talent to entertain. David Judisch will host.

A goal of the concert is to raise funds and awareness to prevent gun violence and work to oppose language in the proposed gun amendment to the Constitution of Iowa that threatens current and future common sense weapons regulations in Iowa.

The concert will motivate individuals to join in the gun violence prevention movement and send strong messages of concern and opposition to Iowa legislators about SJR 18, the Gun Amendment to the Iowa Constitution.

A chance to send postcards and learn more about SJR 18 will be available for all attendees. Tell neighbors, bring friends!
