Cougar trap team in third place at mid-season

The Mabel-Canton trap team remains in third place in the Class 2A, Conference 4 standings after Week 3. The Cougars' Week 3 score was 1,302, bringing their three-week total to 4,625 points. They trail first-place Paynesville (6,511) and second-place Minnewaska (5,427) in the seven-team conference standings.

Colton Heintz-Kuderer was the top Cougar with a score of 47. Tracer Tollefsrud added a 46. Jack Arneson had a 45, Robert Michels a 44, and Austin Snell hit 42 birds.

Dawson Kleiboer scored a 41. Maddy Michels, Emma Middendorf and Brady Yoder each hit 40 targets. Saijal Slafter hit 38, and Colton Tollefsrud scored a 36.

Robert Michels joined the 25-straight club with a perfect score in the first round.

Heintz-Kuderer (23.67) is tied for fifth on the Class 2A, Conference 6 Boys Top 25 List. Arneson is at 11th (23.17), Snell is tied for 13th (22.83) and Tracer Tollefsrud is tied for No. 21 (21.83). Michels sits at No. 25 (21.75).

Emma Middendorf (21.67) is No. 2 on the Girls Top 25 List while Maddy Michels (20.17) is next in a tie for third. Slafter (18.83) is tied for sixth place. Emma Tollefsrud is at No. 16 and Gwen Tollefsrud is at No. 20.

Heintz-Kuderer sits at No. 92 on the list of the Top 100 shooters (all nine classes) in the spring trap season.
