Last week started out with a successful sweep of Rushford-Peterson, 4-1 and 13-0, but then ended with three straight losses to Wabasha-Kellogg, 9-4, and a doubleheader loss to Caledonia/Spring Grove, 1-0 and 8-3.  With the 2-3 record last week the Fillmore Central/Lanesboro gals finished the regular season at 4-14, 4-11 in the Three Rivers Conference.

In the first game with Rushford-Peterson, KJ Corson led the team on offense, going 3/4 at the plate with one run-batted-in.  She also reached base on an error, so was 4/4, on-base.  Makaila Eickhoff led off the fourth inning with a homerun to get the Lady Falcons on the board.  Sierra Rustad walked and also scored in the fourth inning on Haley Joerg’s single.  Ajay Jorgenson scored in the fifth inning on a passed ball and Trina Bergey came across to score on a Corson single in the sixth inning.

Eickhoff did all of the pitching, seven innings, and allowed just four hits, one run (earned), no walks, while striking out seven.

Marzolf was “in the circle” for the shutout.  She gave up just two hits and struck out four.  No walks!

That is probably the most complete game for Fillmore Central/Lanesboro all season.

Addie Peters got her first varsity action of the season in the circle and pitched a gem.  She only gave up one run and one hit in her four innings of work.  She walked five and struck out two in her varsity debut.

Unfortunately, Peters didn’t get much help at the plate.  FCL had three hits in the game, one each for Eickhoff, Bergey and Maddy Bakken.  The Lady Falcons left runners on-base in the first, second, and third innings.
