The Fillmore Central/Lanesboro/Mabel-Canton wrestling program continues to grow, and the 2018-19 season was no exception.

This past season 20 different individuals competed in a varsity meet.  Eleven of those individuals also got matches at the JV level, with an additional 11 wrestlers also saw the mat in a JV match.

Here are the season varsity records for the FCLMC wrestlers, along with team points: Caden Anderson, 23-17 (130.5); Cale Anderson, 22-20 (97); Michael Barrett, 17-20 (112); Carson Berg, 0-5; Nick Distead, 1-1 (6); Cody Gray, 0-1; Oliver Hoeltzie, 0-9; Carter Hovland, 9-26 (40); Ryan Kelly, 0-2; Bradon Knutson, 18-21 (93); Zach Krage, 0-1; Austin Moen, 0-2 (5); Stefan Nikoloski, 15-24 (79); Izayah Reitheimer, 0-3; Pablo Ruen, 3-4 (18); Orion Sass, 16-19 (77); Devin Troendle, 2-19 (8); Harlee Wead, 1-2 (2); Connor Wingert, 1-3 (6); and Bodey Wright, 0-3.

Several of the Wolves’ wrestlers have competed during several seasons now and have accumulated career records. Here are those individuals, along with the number of varsity seasons they have wrestled: Caden Anderson (62-45, four seasons); Cale Anderson (65-53, three seasons); Barrett (33-52, four seasons); Nikoloski (25-43, three seasons); Knutson (27-42, three seasons); Sass (23-31, two seasons); Hovland (9-26, two seasons); Troendle (5-34, two seasons); and Moen (1-3, two seasons).

At the Section 1A meet this season, Caden Anderson and Nikoloski finished fourth and Cale Anderson and Barrett got fifth place medals.

FCLMC competed in individual tournaments in La Crosse, FCLMC, Cresco, PEM, Ellsworth (Wisconsin) and Rochester Century.

Individually, FCLMC had one first place finish, Knutson, at the Flanagan Invitational (Cresco).  He also had two thirds, one fifth place finish and a seventh place.  Other wrestlers that placed in meets during the season: Sass (fourth and two fifths); Cale Anderson (two fourths, one sixth and two sevenths); Caden Anderson (three seconds, one fourth, one fifth and one seventh); Hovland (one fifth and one sixth); Nikoloski (two fourths, one fifth and one eighth); Moen (one fifth); Barrett (one third and four fourths); and Troendel (two eighth place finishes).

And one more indication that the future for FCLMC is bright, the team had three third place finishes at the JV conference meet (Kelly, Harlee Wead and Wright), three fourth place finishes (Joe Liew), Robert Lieb and Reitheimer), one fifth (Berg) and two sixths (Wingert and Krage)

Team awards went to Caden Anderson (Most Valuable Wrestler), Wingert (Hardest Worker) and Wead (Most Improved).  Caden and Cale Anderson made the All-conference Honorable Mention team.
