The 1945 telephone book brought lots of memories...see what it can do for you.  Published by Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. of Minneapolis, the manager for Spring Valley was R.M. Gordon.  "Our policy of this organization, as part of the Bell system, is to provide at all times the best possible telephone service at the lowest rates consistent with reasonable earnings and fair treatment of employees."

On the cover was the usual Distel Funeral Directors, ambulance service, and complete line of furniture.  On the back, Lawlers Cleaners & Dyers of Rochester, with all goods insured while with us, (regular delivery at Leuthold & Majors), complete fur service including cold storage.  Covers:  For prompt removal of dead stock in disinfected trucks — Spring Valley Rendering Co.; Kehrberg's Our Own Hardware, Skelgas & Monarch Ranges, You may pay your phone bill there; Spring Valley Oil Co., Pure Pep & Tiolene, Tank Wagon Delivery!; Victory Cafe, Mary Schonsby, prop., Excellent Food, No Beer, You meet  your friends here.

Inside, a half page — Spring Valley Dairy, Drink Milk, Be Healthy; and one-fourth page Mengis Funeral Home, Ambulance Service, Flowers for all Occasions; and the other was for Husky Gas & Oil, "Gets You There", Doc Bussart, agent.
