Golfers earn post-season awards

The Kingsland golf teams handed out their postseason awards during the annual spring banquet on Sunday night, June 9. The team awards included Low Average Scores and the Most Improved Awards. They also handed out All-Conference and Academic All-Conference Awards.

Boys’ letter winners  

Wyatt Pruter: The senior was also named All-Conference, Academic All-Conference, Academic All-State, and won the boys’ team’s Low Average Award.

Nick Wernimont: The senior joined Pruter as an All-Conference and Academic All-Conference selection.

Gregg Hubka: Another senior golfer, he was an All-Conference Honorable Mention golfer and was named Academic All-Conference.

Nathan Lund: The junior stepped up his golf game this year, winning the team’s Most Improved Award and playing well enough to win an All-Conference award.

Girls’ letter winners

Madeline Moore: Moore, a junior, won the girls’ Low Average Score Award and was an All-Conference golfer. She also was named Academic All-Conference.

Kylie Welch: The freshman was named an All-SEC Honorable Mention, won an Academic All-Conference award, and won the team’s Most Improved Award.

Team awards

Senior golfer Pruter got the Low Average Award with a 43.2 average score (9 holes) for the season. His lowest score of the season was a phenomenal 36.

Lund lowered his average two strokes from last year to 49 and won the Most Improved Award. His low score of the season was a 40.

Moore had the girls’ low average score with a 56 average for the season and her low score was a 45.

Welch improved her average four strokes and shot her lowest-score ever in a meet with a 53.
