Golfers take second in triangular

The Kingsland golfers played host to a triangular with LeRoy-Ostrander/Grand Meadow and Lewiston-Altura/Rushford-Peterson on Thursday, May 16. The Kingsland boys’ team finished second with a score of 174, 12 strokes behind the LARP boys’ score of 162. LOGM finished third (181).

LARP brought the only complete girls’ team to the meet, finishing with a score of 189.

Boys’ results

Wyatt Pruter was the low scorer for Kingsland coming in with a meet-best 37 over nine holes, winning the individual medalist award. Nathan Lund and Nick Wernimont tied for second at 44 strokes and Gavin Merkel shot a 49.

Girls’ results

Madeline Moore was the low scorer for the Kingsland girls, shooting a 46. Kylie Welch also participated and shot a 57.

Lili Reps of LARP was the girls’ individual medalist with a 44.

Schedule

The Kingsland golfers are on the road to the Southeast Conference meet this Thursday, May 23, at the Cedar River Golf Course in Adams. They’ll end the week with a rescheduled meet on Friday, May 24, at Lanesboro.
