Gymnasts continue to show improvement

April Bauer placed first on the uneven parallel bars while Brianna Johnson and Braelyn Lange tied for fourth in all-around as the Caledonia/Spring Grove/Houston gymnasts hosted Kasson-Mantorville on Dec. 17. The Komets won the meet 119.225to 109.225, but the Warriors continued to display improvement with a team score four points higher than the previous meet.

The visitors had the highest team score in all four events. Each squad scored highest in vault with Johnson in fourth place with the Warriors' best individual score of the evening (8.15) and Lange fifth with the next-best score (7.875).

Johnson also placed fourth on beam (7.25) while Sabrina Lisota was fourth in floor exercise (7.575).

Both teams were most challenged on the bars where the Warrior total was within two-tenths of a point of the Komets. Bauer had the best individual score (6.725) with Breanna VanGundy fourth.

More Warriors were in action with less illness and fewer on the injured list.

"It was so great to see JV compete with a full squad," said coach Jackie Johnson. "And they put up a nice team total."
