The Caledonia/Spring Grove/Houston gymnasts returned from the holiday break with their second-best team score of the season while finishing fourth at a Jan. 14 quadrangular meet in La Crosse.

In conference consideration, each team's results count as if they were three conference dual meets against the other three squads.

Byron scored highest at 132.15, followed by Stewartville 124.225, La Crescent-Hokah 117.625 and C/SG/H 107.575

"The girls put up a nice team total and JV also had a nice team total (88.3)," said coach Jackie Johnson.  "We seem to be holding right around the 105-108 team total for the varsity team and now that JV has a full team, they are staying consistent also."

The Warriors' two best individual scores came on vault with eighth grader Braelyn Lange earning an 8.05 and sophomore Brianna Johnson returning from injury at 7.95.

The Warriors had their best team total on vault (30.725); next came uneven parallel bars (27.175) where seventh grader Breana Van Gundy had a 7.025, Lange 6.925 and junior April Bauer 6.725.

In floor exercise (26.225), Johnson led the team at 6.85 with eighth grader Sabrina Lisota at 6.65.

On the balance beam (23.45), Johnson received a score of 6.05 with Lisota at 6.00.

In all-around scoring, Lange earned the eighth-best total at the meet at 27.325 with Johnson ninth at 26.225.
