The 2018 Fillmore County Salvation Army Kettle Drive in Harmony was a success. Donations of $2,140 were received, which exceeded this year's goal of $2,000 and the 2017 donations.

These donations will help the Fillmore County Salvation Army to reach its goal of $16,000 to provide much needed services in Fillmore County in 2019. The tentative budget plans for the following services: $4,200 Emergency Assistance, $300 Community Care, $8,500 Thanksgiving/Easter Meals and $3,000 for Shop with a Cop for school children.

The Fillmore County Salvation Army would like to thank all Harmony-area individuals and businesses who donated, the Harmony Community Chest for its generous donation of $500, Harmony Foods for providing a warm space for the kettle and its ringers, and especially those who volunteered to ring the bell and tend the kettle.

This year’s volunteers rang the bell at Holiday Fest, Breakfast with Santa, the Golden Happenings Christmas Party and multiple times at Harmony Foods and the JEM Theatre.

Those who volunteered were Harvey Benson, Madison Bergey, Betty Dowe, Gerri Ehler, Annette Evenson, Jerry Grehl, Muriel Gunderson, Miriam Harstad, Mary Haugerud, Dave Hoppe, Pam Hoppe, Ann Johannessen, Cliff Johannessen, Sharyn Kiehne, Doug Lawerence, Marian Morem, Zach Morem, Nancy Scrabeck, Richard Scrabeck, Eric Slindee, Sandy Strozyk, Kris Torgerson and Kaylie Whitehill.
