Temperatures in the upper 80s that felt like near 90, didn’t deter the Spring Grove High School Band from putting on an excellent show as they marched the King Apple parade at Applefest in La Crescent on Sunday.

They placed second in Class C with 58.9 points just behind Aquinas High School who had 59.7 points.

This was the second parade for Spring Grove. They also marched in Hesper Mabel Steam Engine Days where they received the award for Best Entertainment.

On Saturday, they will march at the Waseca Marching Classic in Waseca, Minnesota. On Saturday, Sept. 29, they will march in the Maple Leaf parade, which is part of La Crosse’s Oktoberfest celebration.

The band appreciates the support of those who attend the parades and cheer them on. They look forward to an exciting school year and concert season.
