James Sikkink

James "Jim" Greer Sikkink, 58, of Harmony, formerly of Austin, died on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2018, at the Harmony Care Center, following complications of surgery. 

He was born to Roger and Marjorie (Greer) Sikkink on March 13, 1960, in Harmony.

He attended special education classes in Lanesboro.

He then moved to Austin and lived in various REM Homes. He worked at the Cedar Valley workshop for the past 38 years, where he was known as the leader of the Happy Birthday song.

He enjoyed bowling, participating in Special Olympics, and traveling with Venture Travels. He also loved music, listening to his radio and attending the ARC dances. He liked to come home to visit his family and all of his nieces and nephews. 

He is survived by his siblings, Ann (Roger) Patten of Litchfield, Minn., Polly (James) Harstad of Harmony and Randy of Rochester; 10 nieces and nephews and 21 great nieces and nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service for him was held on Saturday, Dec. 1, at the Greenfield Lutheran Church in Harmony.
