June Marie (Ullan) Vix, 86

June Marie (Ullan) Vix, 86, died peacefully on July 24, 2019 at the Valley View Healthcare and Rehab Center in Houston after her battle with Parkinson's Disease.

June was born June 17, 1933, along with her twin sister Joan to Norman and Beatrice (Betty Bakken) Ullan. She grew up on the ridge above Looney Valley. She attended Houston High School.

On February 16, 1952 she married Lloyd Vix, Jr. June and Lloyd had five children. They lived in Houston until 1963, and then moved to Anoka, Minn., where June worked at Thermo Serv. In 1975 they moved back to Houston where June worked at Valley View Nursing Home for many years. Three years ago they moved to 819 Pine Meadows N., Rushford, where Lloyd still resides. She was a member of Cross of Christ Lutheran Church.

June loved to play cards, watch sports, knit, crochet, quilt, garden, cook and have large family gatherings. At Christmas she asked everyone to at least try the lutefisk. June also loved to travel, having been to China, England, France, Scotland and Norway.

June is survived by her husband, Lloyd; twin sister Joan Benson of Houston; children: Betty (Ted) Thorson of Houston; Thomas (Judy) Vix of Houston; Timothy (Kristin) Vix of Onalaska, Wis.; and Jayme Vix of Rushford; 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was proceeded in death by her daughter, Jacqueline Hatlevig, son-in-law, Ronald Hatlevig, and brother-in-law Virgil Benson.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Sunday, August 11, 2019 at 3 p.m. at the Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Houston, MN. Visitation will be prior to the service starting at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to Valley View Healthcare and Rehab Center or Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Houston.
