Kingsland boys win three golf matches

Kingsland boys’ golfers picked up three wins last week — one against Houston and two non-conference matches against Chatfield.

The boys beat Chatfield 180-210 at Chatfield Monday to start the week.  Wyatt Pruter was the medalist with a 38, Nick Wernimont shot a 44, Nathan Lund scored 45, Gregg Hubka had 53, Gavin Merkel 60 and Isaac Simon 72.

Both girls’ teams were incomplete. Kingsland’s Madeline Moore shot a 66 and Kylie Welch shot a 68.

On Thursday, Chatfield traveled to the Old Barn, Kingsland’s home course this year, to face the Knights again with similar results as Kingsland won 186-198. Pruter was medalist again with a 36. Other Kingsland golfers were Lund, 47, Merkel, 51, Simon, 52, Hubka, 55, and Wernimont, 56.

 The girls were incomplete again, but Moore shot a 55 and Welch shot a 67.

Friday, Houston traveled to the Old Barn where Kingsland won 196-279. Lund was the medalist with a 45, Pruter shot 49, Hubka had 51, Wernimont had 51, Merkel scored 55 and Simon had a 66.

The Kingsland girls were incomplete, but Houston’s team shot 267. Moore and Kylie Welch both shot 58s for Kingsland.
