Kingsland runners compete at conference meet

The Kingsland cross-country teams took part in the Three Rivers Conference Meet on Tuesday, Oct. 16, at the Lewiston Golf Course. The Kingsland boys finished the 5,000-meter competition in 11th place, while the girls’ team didn’t meet the minimum number of five runners necessary to compete for a team title.

Plainview-Elgin-Millville won the conference boys’ championship while the girls’ title went to Winona Cotter.

Individual results:

Reese Wolf led the Kingsland boys, finishing 74th (out of 140) with a time of 21 minutes, 55.9 seconds. Noah Broadwater (22:33.6) and Wesley Dean (22:36.2) finished back-to-back. Isaac Hauser (22:51.3) and Nathan O’Connor (23:25.0) also contributed to the team score. Treyton Pokorney (26:31.9) also ran in the 5,000-meter race.

Girls’ results

Individual results:

Susan Mettler ran one of her best races of the fall season, finishing 24th (99 runners) in 23 minutes, 12.1 seconds. Renee Lechner was next in 24:47.3, followed by Sydney Eickhoff (30:05.6) and Meredith Farlinger (33:10.8).


The Knights get into postseason competition at the Section 1A meet coming up on Thursday, Oct. 25, in Rochester. Qualifiers head to the state cross-country meet on Nov. 3 at St. Olaf College in Northfield.
