Despite what trap shooting fans may find on the league website, the Kingsland Knights are still on top of the Class 2A, Conference 6 standings after Week 2 of the regular season.

Kingsland coach Doug Plaehn said as of Sunday night, the standings were based only on Week 2 results instead of a cumulative score. The Knights are No. 1 in the standings, followed by St. James in second place and Verndale High School is third in the seven-team conference.

Nolan Fetterly and Nathan Lund were the top shooters for the Knights, as each finished with a 46. Ashton Boysen scored a 45. James Howard and Hunter Mundfrom each knocked down 44 birds. Hunter Fabian, Bradley Grabau, Luke Howard and Patrick Junge each added a 43. Bret Musel and Joshua Warren each added a 42. Zach Hauser scored 41, as did Thomas Warren. Hunter Jorgenson knocked down 40. Emily Miner added a 38, as did Austin Stephens.

Lund and Fetterly are currently on the Class 2A, Conference 6 Boys’ Top 25 List. Luke Howard and Bradley Grabau are also on the list.
