Kingsland trap team in lead after first week

The Kingsland trap team got week one of the season off to a great start. The Knights are in first place with a score of 2,399, just over 200 points ahead of second-place St. James (2,191.50).

Verndale, West Central Area, and Hawley round out the top five places in the seven-team Class 2A-Conference 6.

Hunter Jorgenson and Nathan Lund each finished with two-round totals of 46 birds each. Nolan Fetterly, Bradley Grabau and Zach Hauser each had a score of 45. Thomas Warren added a 44, Hunter Fabian shot a 43, and James Howard added a 42. Emily Miner was the top female shooter with a 40. Ashton Boysen and Brett Musel each scored 39, and Connor Eickhoff, Trent Schwinefus and Joshua Warren each chipped in a 38.

Jorgenson and Lund were on the list of the Top 25 shooters in Class 2A-Conference 6. They both finished the first week with an average score of 23.00 clay targets. Hauser, Luke Howard, and Grabau each scored an average of 22.50. Fabian scored 21.50 and James Howard added an average of 21.00 birds.
