The conditions at the St. Charles golf course on Monday, April 30, were “windy,” said Kingsland head coach Brent Kohn as the Kingsland boys’ team participated in a triangular with Plainview-Elgin-Millville and Dover-Eyota.

The Knights came out in the middle: PEM 218, Kingsland 221 and D-E 227. Kingsland’s Simon Broadwater was medalist for the match, shooting a 48 for the nine holes. Wyatt Pruter and Nick Wernimont each had 57 while Nathan Lund and Hunter Jorgensen each shot 59.

The Kingsland girls were incomplete.  Kylie Welch shot a 65 for Kingsland and Madeline Moore had a 68.   Brianna Gander, PEM, was medalist for the girls with a 52.

Thursday the Knights hosted their first match of the season, downing the Eagles from Dover-Eyota 184-207.

“This was the best we’ve shot all year,” said coach Kohn.  Pruter was medalist with a 39, followed by Broadwater (42), Jorgensen (50) and Lund (53).

The girls were incomplete again.  Moore had a score of 57 and Welch had a 62.

Friday, the water was high enough to cancel the match at PEM.

This past Monday the golfers were scheduled to be in St. Charles, Tuesday they were to host St. Charles, Thursday they host Lanesboro and Friday they host Chatfield.  Busy week for the golfers!
