The team score of the Spring Grove trap shooters was slightly lower than the first two weeks, but the Lions' margin of victory in week three was also greater than the previous two weeks. Outscoring second place Lourdes by 447 points last week, the Lions' overall season lead over the Eagles has "shot" up to a whopping 1,226 and half points with two weeks remaining in the regular season.

Three shooters led the way last week, each hitting 48 of 50 flying targets - Kyle Hagen, Ashlyn Hammel and CJ Sylling.

Tristan Brainard scored a 47. Hagen and Brainard both began with a perfect round of 25-for-25 while Sylling closed with a 25-straight round.

Coming in with a strong score of 46 were Hailey Conway and Camron Kraus. Jakob Myrah hit 45 birds while Garrison Van Minsel and Tanner Thesing each connected with 44 clay critters.

Marie Petersen, Takoda Boyd and Brandon Anderson each hit 43 targets. Xander Lewis scored 42, Jacine Johanningmeier 41 and Tristan Hammel 40. Rounding out the team total with 39 were Maria Myrah and Taylor Reinhardt.

Ashlyn Hammel has the best season average on the team (24.166) and tops the list of girls in Conference 10 of Class 1A. Lion girls occupy the league’s top four spots with Petersen second, Conway third and Johanningmeier fourth.
