Families in town will have a new option for daycare at Little Explorers In-Home Daycare, led by Megan Buxengard.

Buxengard’s new daycare will be located at 230 3rd Ave. NE in Spring Grove. She is excited about her new venture.

“It’s something I’ve wanted to do,” she said. “I like to be there for the kids, and I enjoy doing daycare.”

Buxengard has 12 years of experience in childcare and preschool education. She has worked in daycare center settings.

Buxengard has an AA degree in early childhood education from Northeast Iowa Community College (NICC).

Her age range will be six weeks to 10 years old. The infant and toddler spots are full, but she has room for preschoolers. She is also able to have two school age children under her care.

For the older kids, the school bus is able to pick up and drop off kids. She’s also planned for a substitute teacher and provider.

What’s her passion when taking care of children?

“Everything,” she said with a smile. “The stuff they say. They can put a smile on your face after a long day.”

Preschoolers will learn letters and numbers under Buxengard’s guidance and experience along with other education.

The opening date of Little Explorers is undetermined, but Buxengard hoped to start this summer.

Buxengard’s new business joins several daycare and preschool centers established in Spring Grove.
