Local business owners honored at RAEDI event

The Vogt family, founders of Four Daughters Vineyard & Winery in Spring Valley, was one of three honorees at the sixth annual RAVE (Recognizing Awarding Valuing Entrepreneurs) event Tuesday, Oct. 22, at the Rochester Technology Campus in Rochester.

“We are truly excited to host a record number of attendees with our partners at the Rochester Technology Campus,” Ryan Nolander, RAEDI (Rochester Area Economic Development, Inc.) president, said prior to the event. “Clearly, the community is interested in showing their support for our entrepreneurs and, showcasing the options the campus has to offer is a bonus.”

Rochester Area Economic Development, Inc., (RAEDI) hosts the event. In addition to the Vogts, honorees included: George Coy, founder of Clean Plus, Inc., along with his son, Matthew Coy, president of Clean Plus in West Concord; and Scott Snyder, Eric Snyder, and Thomas Olson, co-founders of Geneticure in Rochester.

The three 2019 RAVE honorees were selected among new and emerging businesses within the area. In the last six years, RAVE has recognized 22 entrepreneurs throughout southeast Minnesota.

In addition to the RAVE honorees, a lifetime achievement award was presented to Leigh J. Johnson of Custom Alarm/Custom Communications, Inc., Rochester. The 2019 RAVE Warrior of the Year went to Neela Mollgaard, executive director of Launch Minnesota. The warrior award recognizes an individual for advocating, promoting, and supporting area entrepreneurs. This individual also increases awareness of the value entrepreneurs play in building our local economy.

“The reality of transforming a dream into a thriving and growing business is very demanding work. We are grateful to our sponsors for allowing us to continue to offer this program free to entrepreneurs and showcase their success,” said Xavier Frigola, director of entrepreneurial programs at RAEDI.

RAVE is held during Rochester’s Entrepreneurial Week Oct. 21 to 25.

RAEDI works to encourage local business expansion and new business locations in the Rochester area with a primary goal to attract, retain and assist the growth and expansion of base business within the Rochester region.
