Lyla F. Moger, 92, of Preston, died on Friday, June 8, 2018, at her home, where she had resided for the last four years.

She was born on Dec. 29, 1925, near Highland, to John and Olga (Flattum) Glenna.

She grew up next to the Highland Church where she attended and was confirmed.

She attended school in Lanesboro.

She was united in marriage to James Moger on Feb. 24, 1941 at First Lutheran Church of Highland. To this union five children were born, Lyle, Rockny, Rodney, Marjewel and Rhonda.

 After their marriage she and her husband lived on a farm near Highland before moving to Spring Valley, Dover, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Winona. While in Cedar Rapids she worked for Collins Radio. After moving to Winona, she was employed by Neko Technologies, Technigraph, Whetstone Machine and Wincraft where she retired in the early 1990’s.

She truly loved and enjoyed her family and friends and spending time with them. 

 She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, teaching her grandchildren how to play cards, trips to the casinos and road trips anywhere and everywhere. She always had a suitcase packed and ready to go. She was always game for anything. 

Currently she found a passion in making crocheted hats and headbands for the infants at St. Jude’s and other local hospitals.

She is survived by her daughters, Marjewel Salisbury of Winona and Rhonda (Doug Wobig) Merchlewitz of Preston; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren, two brothers, Jerome (Bernita) Glenna of Lake City and Gilman Glenna of Winona and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; sons, Lyle, Rockny and Rodney; four grandchildren, Mark, Marty, Deanna and Dean and three siblings, Viola Himlie, Adeline Bunke and Floyd Glenna.

Funeral services for her will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 16, at First Lutheran Church of Highland 22423 391st Ave., Lanesboro. Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until time of service on Saturday. Burial will be in the Highland Cemetery.
