Marcella M. McDonald, 95, of Kenyon and formerly of Wanamingo, died on Saturday, April 14, 2018, at District One Hospital in Faribault.

Marcella Marjorie Ziemer was born on April 21, 1922, in Carver County in Minnesota to Ernest and Hulda (nee Schultz) Ziemer.

She grew up on the family farm outside of LeSueur, Minn., and attended country school there.

On Nov. 17, 1943, she married Russell E. McDonald at the Church of Christ in St. Peter, Minn.

They lived in several communities as her husband worked for different farmers. In 1963 they moved to Wanamingo and she worked at Kid Duds in Cannon Falls and raised the family. She enjoyed camping, fishing, bicycling, sewing and embroidery work, gardening and canning, cooking and reading her Bible.

She is survived by her children, Gloria (John) Angerman of Hot Springs, Ark., Roland (Mary) McDonald of Lyle, Minn., Dennis (Linda) McDonald of Hastings, Minn., Sharon (Virgil) Pederson of Shell Lake, Wis., Marvin (Sue) McDonald of Webster, Wis., and Doreen (David) Schultz of Wykoff; 16 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; brothers, LeRoy Ziemer and Curt (Debbie) Ziemer and extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell; son, Larry; grandson, Michael; two sisters and three brothers.

A memorial service for her was held on Saturday, April 28, at the Concord Church of Christ in Old Concord, Minn. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in St. Peter at a later date.
