Morris Alfson

Morris “Butch” T. Alfson, Jr., 71, of Harmony, died on Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse. 

He was born to Morris and Lois (Yeoman) Alfson on Dec. 11, 1946.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing darts, gardening and baking. He lived in Harmony most of his life. He worked as a baker, Heco Ent., and Crop Production Services for almost 21 years. 

He married Virginia Ryan and a daughter was born to this union. They later divorced.

He later married Peggy Johnson and the couple had three sons. They later divorced.

He honorably served as a private in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era from 1964 to 1967. During his service he was stationed in Germany and France and received the National Defense Service Medal as well as the Marksman and Sharpshooter Badges.

He is survived by his daughter, Lisa; sons, Jason (Trina), Jamie and Cory (Laura); brother, Dennis (Gayle); sister, Lynell Shanks; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews and special friend Sandy “Sam.”

He was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia. 

Services for her were held at the Veterans Cemetery in Preston on Tuesday, June 26.
