Mrs. Mary A. Welch, 73, of Galesburg, Ill

Mrs. Mary A. Welch, 73, of Galesburg, Ill., died on Thursday, November 1, 2018, at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg.

She was born April 18, 1945, in Rushford to Clarence and Anna Heyer Wenzel. Mary married James K. Welch January 8, 1966 in Hart, Minn. He Survives.

Also surviving is a son, Brian Welch of Clinton, Ill., a daughter, Nancy (and Dan) Collins of Deltona, Fla., a brother, Wayne (and Arlene) Wenzel of Mesa, Ariz., and three grandchildren, Tayler Welch, Christopher Halsey and Rebecca Collins. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mary graduated from Lewiston High School, Lewiston, Minn., in 1963. She lived in Lewiston and Winona, Minn., until she moved to Galesburg in 1968. Mary worked in the food service for School District #205 for 25 years. She retired in 2005. Mary was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Galesburg.  She was an avid bowler and was on a bowling league in Galesburg.

A funeral service was held Monday, Nov. 5, 2018, in Galesburg officiated by Pastor Steve Sommerer. Cremation followed the funeral service. There will be a graveside service for Mary at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Hart, Minn., at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 15, 2019.
