Mychal C. Rollie, 35, formerly of Spring Valley, died on Friday, Dec. 28, 2018, in Mankato, while continuing to address living with mental illness and addiction.

He was born to Myron and Ellen (Fenstermacher) Rollie on Sept. 27, 1983, in Austin.

He grew up on the family farm in rural Spring Valley and attended Kingsland Public Schools.

He held a variety of jobs in his adult life, enjoying welding the most. Anything he could create, make or fix with his hands brought him the greatest satisfaction. Fishing brought him peace.

He is survived by his parents, Myron and Ellen Rollie of Spring Valley; two brothers, Daniel (Jessica) of Rochester and Joel of Spring Valley; a niece, Kennedy; two nephews, Carter and Lincoln; paternal grandparents, Jerry and Marlene Rollie of Spring Valley and many dear cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Dale and Huberta Fenstermacher.

Memorial services for him were held on Wednesday, Jan. 2, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Spring Valley with the Rev. Betsy Dartt and the Rev. Mark VanHouse officiating.
