OFFICIAL MINUTES OF BOARD WORK SESSION MEETING OF INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT #2137 – February 4, 2019

A duly posted work session meeting of the Board of Education, Independent School District No. 2137 was held in the Kingsland Elementary Conference Room on Monday, February 4, 2019, 6:30 p.m.

Board Chair Jackie Horsman called the meeting to order. Present: Jackie Horsman, Tiffany Mundfrom, Leah Stier, Natasha Howard, Kyle Rader, and Maranda Emig. Absent: none. Also in attendance was Superintendent James Hecimovich and student board member, Zachary Queensland.

Information was given and discussion was held on the agenda items for the February 4, 2019 meeting, including policy review, Building & Grounds and activities report, business manager update, staffing updates, operating levy, administrative recommendations for reductions, property donation to City of Wykoff, 2019-20 academic calendar, 2019-20 high school courses, and general/capital funds update. After that the meeting was closed to discuss negotiations.

Mundfrom moved to close the meeting pursuant to M.S. 13d.03, subd. 1, 2. 4, 5 and 13d. 02. Rader seconded. Motion carried unanimously. The meeting was closed at 7:23 pm.

The board was updated on the status of the classified staff negotiations agreement. Discussion was held.

Emig moved to open the meeting pursuant to M.S. 13d.03, subd. 1, 2. 4, 5 and 13d. 02. Howard seconded. Motion carried unanimously. Meeting was opened at 7:50 pm.

The next work session will be held on Monday, March 4, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. in the elementary conference room.

The next regular board meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. in the choir room.

Officer’s workshop will be held on February 21, 2019 in Rochester from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. MSBA’s Negotiations Seminar will be held on Thursday, February 28, 2019.

Emig moved to adjourn the meeting. Mundfrom seconded. Motion carried unanimously. The meeting was adjourned at 8:28 p.m.
