Peter Haack, 63, of Spring Valley

Peter H. Haack, 63, of Spring Valley, died unexpectedly on Sunday, April 21, 2019, at his home, of an apparent heart attack.

He was born on Feb. 7, 1956, in Spring Valley to Daryl Haack and Malba (Bondenson) Haack.

He attended school in Spring Valley, graduating in 1974.

On Nov. 18, 1978, he was united in marriage to Brenda Heffern at our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Spring Valley. Together they had one daughter, Danielle.

He and his wife owned and operated the Spring Valley Bakery since 1981. He started learning and honing his craft at the age of 12 when he began working for his father and he continued baking until the time of his death. He had a true passion for the business and took pride in his work.

He also had a passion for music, attending concerts of his favorite bands throughout the country, even traveling with his wife to Paris to see the Rolling Stones. 

He was so proud of his family and dearly loved his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda of Spring Valley; daughter, Danielle (Troy) Harwood of Spring Valley; grandchildren, Alexys, Ashlyn and Brantley; one sister, Diane (John) Capelle of Rochester and their children, Shawn (Nicole) Capelle, Brandon (Stephanie) Capelle and Brooke (Andrew) Wilcox.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Daryl (Marian) Haack and his mother, Malba Haack. 

Funeral services for him will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 25, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Spring Valley with the Rev. Mark VanHouse officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of service at the church. Burial will be in the Spring Valley Cemetery.
