The Lanesboro trap team had its best team score of the season (1,254) and maintained its position to finish the season as runner-up in Conference 1 of Class 2A. Third-place Isle picked up a few points but could not catch the Burros.

It closed a five-week conference campaign that saw Lanesboro finish second after starting in fifth place.

Lauren Zoellner finished with the top average (21.10) among all conference girls while Zachary Torgerson (22.50) ranked third among all league boys for the season. The Burros had three of the top 10 boys with Logan Torgerson seventh and Holdyn Willford 10th.

Logan Jensson and Jacob Peterson also finished among the conference's top 25 boys.

In last week's shooting, Logan Torgerson had a 25-straight round (25 for 25) and a team-high weekly total of 48, also a satisfying personal-record total to end the season.

Willford hit 45 clay targets and Zachary Torgerson 43. Jensson blasted 42 birds, Jacob Peterson 41 and Alex Reimann 40.

Connor Ruen and Trevor Ruen each clipped 38 flying clays while Caden Johnson and Harlee Wead knocked 37 out of the sky.

Dayton Haugen had a 35 and Zoellner 34 with Ben Snyder coming in at 33, Joey Bradley 31 and William Asleson 30.

"All my sixth and seventh graders showed tremendous improvement," said coach Dustin Flattum.  "This was our best placing in conference since our inception.  I was really proud of all my shooters, and next year looks promising."
