The Spring Grove trap shooters not only had the best team score of the week but also more than doubled their lead over second place Rochester Lourdes in the second week of conference competition. The Lions outscored the Eagles by 395 points this week after a 385-point margin in the opener. The Grove marksmen now lead Lourdes by 780 points.

Consistency was evidenced by the Lions scoring 1,792 and half points this week after 1,790 in the first week.

There was no movement in the standings as the eight teams scored in the same order as they had in the first week.

Four Lions shared the week's individual honors, each with a 48 (out of 50) - Takoda Boyd, Ashlyn Hammel, Marie Petersen and Garrison Van Minsel.

One bird back at 47 were Xander Lewis, Carson Gerard and Brandon Anderson.

Connecting with 45 clay targets were CJ Sylling, Camron Kraus and Tristan Brainard. Tristan Hammel had a 44 while Tanner Thesing hit 43 targets.

Rounding out the team score were Jacine Johanningmeier 42, Maria Myrah 41, Jacob Myrah 40 and Kyle Hagen 40.

The five other shooters were between 33 and 39.

Each fires two rounds of 25. Last week, four had a 25-straight round (25 out of 25) - Van Minsel, Anderson, Boyd and Ashlyn Hammel.

Individual conference leader information was not available before the Herald went to press.
