The Chatfield softball team started the week with a one-run loss to Cotter (1-0) and finished the week with a one-run win over Lewiston-Altura (1-0).  Sandwiched between those two one-runners was a 12-0 five-inning win over Rushford-Peterson.

The team is now 5-2 overall, 4-1 in the Three Rivers Conference and 2-1 against teams from the East division.

In the loss to Cotter, Chatfield gave up an unearned run in the second inning on a hit, error and hit, but couldn’t get the offense going to get the win.

Lexi Chase suffered the loss in the circle as she allowed three hits, one run (unearned) and no walks.  She struck out nine Rambler batters.

The Lady Gophers only got two hits off the Cotter ace, Isabell Northrop.  Chatfield batters struck out 13 times. Recording the Lady Gopher hits were Chase and Carlie Berge.  The only other Gopher batter to reach base was Katie Ihrke, who walked in the third inning.  Chatfield never had more than one base-runner in any inning.
