Timothy “Marlon” Jay Brandau, 56, of Lime Springs, Iowa, died on Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at his shop in Chester, Iowa.

He was born on Aug. 6, 1961, in Osage, Iowa, to Jerald Brandau and Sandra (Kallestad) Brandau.

He attended Riceville High School.

He spent his life doing things he enjoyed. From every size and make of motorcycle, to every size and model of Caterpillars. His favorite pastime was spending days on end in his shop, restoring antique bulldozers, trucks and motorcycles. He enjoyed traveling to out of the way antique stores, junkyards and fields, always hoping to bring home that good deal.

He is survived by his parents, Jerry Brandau and Sandra Brandau of Cresco; sisters, Naomi Brandau of Spring Valley and Holly (Joe) Mooney of Lone Tree, Iowa; brother, Troy Brandau of Cresco; one son, Brian (Loralei) Brandau; granddaughter, Cora of Riceville; one daughter, Autumn Horsman of Stewartville; nephews, Dalton, Dylan and Justin; one niece, Autumn and special friend, Kristy.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Todd.

Funeral services for him will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 20, at the LeRoy Lutheran Church with the Rev. Herman Bakker officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 19, at the LeRoy Lutheran Church and will continue for one hour prior to the service on Friday.
